To compare two audio files in AQuA is very easy, just invoke it with these parameters: VQcmd.exe -mode files -src file SOURCEFILE.wav -tstf REFERENCE.wav -fau REPORT.txt
SOURCEFILE.wav is the original audio file to compare and the REFERENCE.wav is the file being processed by a codec or being recorded at the destination (of a VoIP system for example), or original file degraded by any other means one would like to compare with quality wise; the REPORT.txt file is the one that contains reasons for quality loss. It’s important to point out that if one would like to compare results to PESQ or MOS then one should use parameter “-ratem %mp” in the software command line. The value returned in percentage (0-100%) corresponds to the audio files similarity for a human ear.

After analysis is done one can check what were the reasons for voice quality losses by simply checking contents of the REPORT file, which in the screenshot above is called Report.txt
